Jim is a native of Newport News, Virginia where he met his wife Tammy who is a Licensed Professional Counselor. He has two grown children, Amanda and Joshua. In his spare time, Jim loves to attempt to play golf, try his hand at grilling, and suffer along with his beloved Washington Redskins.
I began my ministry at Fairview Baptist in June of 2008 as Minister of Music and Administration.
I felt the call to ministry my senior year of college. After teaching school in Front Royal Virginia for two years I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to prepare for the ministry. Prior to coming to Fairview, I have had the privilege of Serving Churches in Salem, Richmond, and Colonial Heights.
I count it an honor and privilege to serve as your Minister of Music and Administration. I look forward to continuing to experiencing a bright future the and “Sweet, Sweet Spirit” that is Fairview.
I’m a native of Virginia, and was even born right here in Fredericksburg. I graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Computer Science, and spent several years providing IT support in the Northern Virginia area. I sensed God calling me in a new direction, which led me to Denver Seminary in Littleton Colorado to pursue an MDiv degree, with a focus in youth and family ministry. I’ve worked as a church volunteer in youth ministry for many years, and am excited to now be at Fairview Baptist full-time.
I am eager to build relationships with the children, youth, and their families here in Fredericksburg, and want to help students understand what it means to have an identity in Christ. Being a Christian is so much more than just a bunch of rules, and without a clear understanding of what it means to be a child of God, it is easy to lose our focus. Here at Fairview Baptist, we seek to provide a safe, fun, and close-knit community where we can experience God through our study of the Bible.
I moved to Fredericksburg with my husband in 2005 from the Eastern Shore of Virginia to be closer to family. A few months later I was offered the job of secretary at Fairview Baptist Church, which I joyfully accepted. It was an answer to prayer that led me to Fairview where I have been blessed with strong friendships with the members and a great staff to work with.
My job involves putting together the weekly church newsletter and the Sunday bulletin, plus input to the church membership records. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve the Lord at Fairview.
