When Paul writes to Timothy about his young age, his call for respect is based on Timothy setting an example for other believers.  Navigating through our modern culture can be a challenge for everyone, and today’s teens are bombarded with these challenges daily.  They must make decisions that will shape the rest of their lives, as well as shaping an entire society around them.  Living as a Christian teenager within this era can be especially challenging.

The Youth Ministry of Fairview Baptist Church at Charlotte Street aims to provide a safe environment for teens to biblically explore life as they walk within their spheres of influence:  at school, playing sports, attending band practice, at home with family, out with their social groups, gaming online, or plugging in through social media.  Even though each of our journeys are uniquely our own, we walk together in our youth group, gaining strength through our diverse community, laughing and crying together as we share our successes, challenges and failures.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the day approaching.
Hebrews 10:24-25
Some people may associate Christianity with being perfect, or at least claiming to be…  But that’s not who we are (and its not biblical either).  Do we love Jesus?  Absolutely.  Do we try to praise Him through our words, thoughts and actions?  Most definitely.  Do we mess up, make mistakes, get caught up in things we shouldn’t be doing, trip up on our own pride, (and the list goes on)?  Guilty as charged.

But we know that as Christians, we are forgiven, and we are here to support each other as we work through the mess of life and become the people that God has called each of us to be.  Feel free to join us at any time.  We really would like to get to know you.
