Eternal salvation comes through believing by faith in Jesus Christ.
The Bible says, “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” Romans 10:9-10
How to obtain salvation through Jesus Christ:
Acknowledge your sin and that you need Jesus. When matched with the holiness of God every person falls short and sins. Sin prevents you from having an eternal relationship with God.
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
Believe in Jesus Christ as Lord. The Bible shares the Good News that God provided His Son, Jesus to offer us a way to be forgiven of our sins and restore our relationship with God. Jesus suffered and died on the cross for each of us and He rose from the dead to give us eternal life. If you, through faith, believe this you will be saved.
“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father, but through Me.’” John 14:6
Confess your sins. The final steps each person must take for salvation is to pray directly to Jesus Christ and ask Him to forgive you of your sins. This is proclaiming Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. The Bible promises that you will be forgiven and will be saved if you ask.
“For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13
How do I pray for forgiveness and salvation?
Pray a prayer similar to this:
Lord Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God and died for my sins on the cross. I believe you rose from the dead to conquer death and give me eternal life. I humbly ask you to forgive of my sins and enter my life. I will do my best to make you the Lord of my life as long as I live. Thank you for loving and dying for me. In Jesus name, amen.
